The world has descended into darkness.

In the untamed wilderness of Midgard, daylight reveals hordes of wandering undead. Rivers flow with water that burns your throat, and the once honourable Valkyries no longer carry fallen warriors to Valhalla. Something sinister lurks in the shadows of forests and gorges, casting a malevolent presence upon the land. It is the work of the dark goddess Hel, who, in just 15 days, has cursed these lands with her black magic and seeks to enslave the kingdom of the living.

Death is no longer a boundary.

You are an immortal and courageous Jarl of the northern warriors, spared from the grasp of death. Healers and shamans are at a loss as to why this has occurred. With passage to Valhalla sealed, your only path forward is to arm yourself and drive back these creatures of darkness, banishing them to the depths of Helheim.
